  Dr. Connell was raised in Jefferson Park on the northwest side of Chicago. She attended UIC-College of Dentistry and graduated in 1997. She worked on the Navajo Reservation in Chinle, Arizona as a commissioned corps dental officer for 2 years, then spent time working there and at surrounding reservations over the following two years. While working on the reservation, Dr. Connell gained valuable experience working with children. There were very limited resources and many of the children qualified for complete oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia because of the severity of their poor dental health. Because the area was sorely understaffed, Dr. Connell and a few other dentists got together and made it their mission to take care of as many children as possible in a clinical setting. This is where she honed her ability to treat even the most challenging patients in a caring and gentle way. Through that experience, working with children became her comfort zone, and Dr. Connell made the decision to focus her energy on treating children. She completed her two year pediatric dental residency in 2005, again at UIC where she further increased her experience in pediatric dentistry, both clinically and in a hospital setting. Dr. Connell has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry since 2007. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Association, Chicago Dental Association, and Eco-Dentistry Association. Dr. Connell is a faculty member at UIC College of Dentistry and has hospital privileges at St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates. We look forward to working with you.
